Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum

Join the Bristol Garden Club and Blithewold to experience the breadth of colors, forms, and sizes now available in daffodils! Daffodil enthusiasts proudly display their flowers individually and in arrangements as they compete for awards and share their enthusiasm. The display will begin in Blithewold’s historic Carriage House Visitors Center and continue with floral arrangements placed throughout the first floor of the Mansion.

We invite you for Tea in Blithewold’s Dining Room, where fine meals have been enjoyed by cherished guests for more than a century. Gather with friends and exchange stories while delighting in a cup of tea, freshly baked scones with sweet cream, and a three-tiered tray filled with sweet and savory treats. Simply luxurious! Come in, sit down, relax, and enjoy the moment.
The price includes admission to the Mansion and Grounds, so plan to leave time for a stroll!

We have limited seating at this time to 14 tables per seating, 4 maximum per table. Only parties of 4 or less will be accepted.
We have a limited ability to accommodate only vegetarian diets, as well as nut and celiac allergies. Please specify when making a reservation.
There is no children’s price. If your child will be enjoying the food, they require a ticket. If they are too young to eat it, they do not.
The price for Tea includes admission to the mansion and grounds, so be sure to leave time for strolling!
Unfortunately, we are unable to take individual payments for each member of a group. Payment must be made for the entire party at the time of registration.

Join Director of Horticulture Dan Christina as he leads you on a walking tour through the diverse collection of narcissi (daffodils) at the peak of Daffodil Days. Participants will view unique and uncommon cultivars and species, observe planting strategies for woodlands and gardens, and learn about the different growing characteristics and habits of most of the 90+ varieties shown in the accredited American Daffodil Society Display Garden.

Local artist Beth Adoette is coming to Blithewold to share her unique practice of partnering with nature in a monthly workshop series. This workshop offers people the opportunity to unplug and be in the moment while exploring beautiful objects of nature. Please note that nature mandalas are ephemeral and will not be taken home. Photographs are encouraged. High-resolution, edited photographs can be ordered separately at the workshop for an additional fee.

This includes not only wine-growing aspects like pesticide use and regenerative farming, but also topics like alternative packaging and corks versus caps. As each topic is discussed, we will taste a wine made or packaged using that approach.

You will be gently guided through our natural spaces; taking in and connecting with the early morning sights, sounds, and smells during this leisurely stroll. Unwind and recharge, science has shown that time spent in nature has healing and therapeutic health benefits.
Please bring a water bottle and wear sturdy walking shoes. This program will take place rain or shine so please dress appropriately.
Preregistration is required. Each class is limited to 20 people. This is not appropriate for children under 12.

Early Bird Sensory Walks with Blithewold’s Environmental Educator, Connie Ganley

Join us on the last Tuesday of each month, from September through May, for fun (and educational) hands-on learning at Blithewold! This year we will offer programs in Science, History, and Art. Each month, we will begin by collecting data for Cornell University’s Lab of Orthinology (Birds) to help scientists track changes in bird populations across the globe.
Indoor and outdoor learning experiences in Science, History, and the Arts complete our curriculum, which aligns with RI, MA, and CT state standards.
Between sessions, there is plenty of time to enjoy a nice picnic or run out some energy on the Great Lawn. Check our website for more information on our monthly themes and activities.
The programs are designed for Ages 8 – 13. Adult chaperone required.
Class size is limited to 15. Reservations are required.
