right, our zoning laws always make sense and exceptions of use are never made to pad corporate or political pockets. Those cell phone towers smack in the middle of Weetamoo woods do nothing at all to tarnish the view.

lets tackle one point only:
"3) Your rejoinder then boils down to the following: the island is more productive and the less productive should foot your bill. I guess you are part of the 1%. "seriously, are you dumb? because thinking "the less productive should foot the bill" when we pay in the most taxes and receive the least benefit is the ultimate in stupidity. sorry for being so harsh, but when someone tries to say that because we provide more money and simply expect an equitable allotment in return, means that those that provide the least are footing the bill is either disingenuous, or an idiot.

John Hedley - 94% account for 80%, that means that the 6% left over account for 20%. Do the math. That means we account for 5 times more revenue per person than you do. why are we footing YOUR bill? the "economic significance" has been eroding, yes, thanks to the Toll on the Pell! Why am I paying are we supplying 5 times more tax revenue than anyone else? Maybe you should put a toll in Situate? why am I paying to pave Rt. 102? or put a toll on 146, why should I pay for Woonsocket, which 40% of the town is on public assistance? Pay their own way, I say! (if i was a heartless buffoon, I would say that, but I am not, so, I say, if this is how RI, treats us, maybe we should take our 20% to Mass! and see how Woonsocket does without our 5x the revenue per person)

that is great, Will G. You dont care about an additional $7.50 a week just to go to work for RI residents. What about Mass Residents who come here to shop. Or, should I say, used to. $10.50 round trip to go to Best Buy? Nope, not any more. Get a transponder you say, well, why should they? They will just not come.

the average person pays 3 times more in social security taxes than they will collect. You get back based on what you pay in. social Security is NOT a freebie.

By that logic, why should we pay for your roads? Newport County provides 1/3 of all state revenue yet receives less than 1/10th the funding. So, by YOU logic, why should we not toll the Iway, or Rt 1, or 146?

and when I say "business" I am not specifically speaking of things conducted inside a retail establishment. I am speaking of business. All types. Your business, your neighbors business. I can assure you, if my neighbors heard a ruckus at my house, they would stick their nose in my "business" and call the cops.

people already bring their dogs there. I see them there all the time and at other parks. when they are calm and docile, they are not an issue. but when they are hyper and easily excited, or are unfriendly, it most certainly is an issue. It can be distruptive of games when they are being played and scare children. Build a dog park, or, as a novel idea, do what everyone else does and walk your dogs in your own neighborhood.
