Replysimilar to the Newport bridge tolls are needed for the maintenance of the sakonnet bridge. the newport bridge tolls did not negatively impact newport. it works and the tolls are needed on sakonnet bridge. notice none are looking to have the newport bridge tolls eliminated.

chris, the way you read it???? basically it wasn't proper for the court???? sounds like you should be on the us supreme court.
the court sided with the town council and although not "yet" final it is the first step in protecting the rights of north kingstown residents as determined by the town council.
you should thank the town council for keeping propertyy taxes affordable. -

live, you prefer to place blame on the president of the town council rather than write or face the truth. the supreme court involvement and decision says it all . you should also know that the town council was unified on this issue.

jeff, the new tax rate should be slightly less than $2.00 per $1000. There are 2 reasons for the new rate - 1 drop in property values 2 schools.

tolls from the newport bridge pay for the newport and mount hope bridge maintenance. if tolls are such an issue for you and all others can cross the mount hope bridge without a toll.
