Nor'Easter To Bring Damaging Winds, Power Outages
The National Weather Service is forecasting strong winds, downed trees and scattered power outages across Tiverton and Little Compton as an approaching Nor'Easter sweeps across Rhode Island and Massachusetts today.
With the memories of days without electicity fresh in residents minds just one week after Hurricane Sandy, the National Weather Service is predicting stong wind gusts and more outages from an approaching Nor'Easter. A high wind warning is in effect from 10 a.m. through 1 a.m. on Thursday and gusts up to 60 mph are expected. "Damage to trees, power lines and property are possible with wind of this magnitude," reads the NWS advisory. "Power outages are likely. Take action now to secure any loose outdoor objects."
