Funeral services for John W. Corbishley, Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 399 Hope Street, Bristol.
John W. Corbishley, Sr., formerly of Tiverton, died on April 5, 2013. He is survived by his wife Jane E. Corbishley, his three sons, John Jr., Matthew and Mark Corbishley; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John was a general agent for Mass Mutual Insurance retiring in 1996. He was the CEO of “The Corbishley Financial Group” and served as the president for 10 years. He was a dedicated volunteer and active sailor, as a volunteer he was on many committees and volunteered in Providence Schools, Battleship Massachusetts and the RI Foundation. The funeral for Esther Kaminski, 83, a longtime Tiverton resident, will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Bliss Four Corners Congregational Church.
Esther (Barboza) Kaminski, 83, formerly of Mt. Holly, NJ and Tiverton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. Esther was the beloved wife of the late Hillary (Bill) C. Kaminski. They met through a mutual love of the accordion and played beautifully together for 25 years. She was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Rev. Manuel and Augusta (Gomes) Barboza and had lived in Tiverton for 33 years before moving to New Jersey in 2011 to be close to her family. Esther was an active member of the Bliss Four Corners Congregational Church in Tiverton where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Tiverton Senior Center chorus and enjoyed entertaining residents at local nursing homes. She loved music and enjoyed playing the …

Tiverton's Janice Diane Perry died on last week at 65.
Janice Diane Perry, 65, formerly of Tiverton, died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, the Sakonnet Times Reports. There will be a funeral Mass on Friday, Feb. 1, at St. Theresa’s Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton, at 10 a.m. There will be coffee and pastry afterward in the church hall.

Andrew J. Plocica, formerly of Tiverton, died last week at 85.
Andrew J. Plocica, 85, formerly of Tiverton, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Carlene (White) Plocica. Born in Fall River, Andrew was the son of the late Josef and Dorota (Fronczek) Plocica, but lived in Tiverton since 1968. He was a daily communicant and very active with the Holy Ghost Church, also in Tiverton. Mr. Plocica served in the U.S. Navy for four years during WWII where he attended Signal School in Michigan and was assigned to the U.S.S. Stribling. After he was in the Navy, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years and attained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. While in the Coast Guard he served on the Legare and the Bibb among many others. He also was stationed at the Coast …

James L. Allen, died unexpectedly on Dec. 3, 2012. He was 84 years old. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital from the Veterans Home in Bristol, RI where he resided after living with his family in Tiverton. He was the husband of Viola (Broome) Allen. Mr. Allen was born in Waterbury, CT on Feb. 24, 1928, the son of the late Lawrence Gilbert and Alice (Gibbons) Allen. James L. Allen grew up in Providence where he graduated from Lasalle Academy and Bryant College. He was a sales representative for U.S. Rubber Co. where he covered the New England States and Globe Mfg. Master Chief Plocica was my boot camp company commander (Golf-53) from September to December 1963.
