A confidential informant led to an arrest and confiscation of almost $3,000 of heroin Wednesday after surveillance in Tiverton, according to police. Newport Police arrested Deana Furtado, 39, of 85 California St., Fall River and charged her with possession of drugs after police found the drugs in car. The informant said Furtado would arrive at Shell Station parking lot by the rotary at 2:00 p.m., driving a gold Cadillac. Police set up surveillance of the gas station and watched Furtado pull into the parking lot. The car's registration matched the address of a house in Tiverton where she had been staying, said police. A Somerset is facing drunken driving and felony firearms charges after Tiverton Police arrested him following a car crash last week.
A Somerset man is facing a felony firearm charge after Tiverton Police arrested him on drunken-driving charges on Jan. 29. Aron LePage, 36, of 124 Old Colony Way, Somerset, MA, allegedly rear-ended a Nissan Sedan that was stopped at the intersection of Crandall and Stafford roads. According to police reports, Lepage struck the Nissan with his Chevy Silverado, causing it to run off of the roadway. No one was injured in the crash. As police spoke with LePage, officers noted signs of alcohol intoxication and frisked his person in preparation for a field sobriety test. Westport Woman Bounces $25 Check Jessica Bauler, 28, of 11 Lawtons Lane, Westport, MA, was arrested on Nov. 15 at 4:25 p.m. and charged with writing fraudulent checks. According to reports, Bauler wrote a check to Tiverton Auto Parts in the amount of $25, but with insufficient funds to cover the check. After repeated attempts to contact Bauler to make restitution failed, a warrant was issued for her arrest on Sept. 11. Bauler turned herself in on Nov. 15 and was released by a justice of the peace after posting bail. Domestic Vandalism Charge Skyler Ims, 28, was arrested on Nov. 15 at 11:32 p.m. and charged with domestic vandalism after she allegedly banged on a sliding glass window at her ex-boyfriend's house and smashed it.
