Tiverton Mother Falsely Accuses Daughter of Assault

Motherly Love Helen M. Keszyinki, 56, of 730 Winwood Drive Apt. 207, was arrested on Friday, May 3, at 11:51 a.m. and charged with filing a false report of a crime. Keszyinki allegedly lied to Tiverton police about a conflict with her daughter and claimed her daughter stole money from her. Keszyinki made allegations that her daughter physically assaulted her and stole several hundred dollars, but after police spoke with the daughter - who had an alibi for the alleged time of the crime - it was clear that Keszyinki was lying.  Keszyinki was arrested and processed at Tiverton police headquarters where she was later released on a summons to appear for arraignment in Second Division District Court on May 9. Fall River Man Charged With DUI, Three Times Legal Limit

  A Fall River, MA, man was charged with drunken driving after his car crashed while driving with a Blood Alcohol Count allegedly three times the legal limit.  Kevin P. Theberge, 27, of 299 Field St. Apt. 1, was arrested on April 28 at 6:03 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence. He was arrested after he apparently lost control of his green Subaru, which collided with a boulder on Judson Street. Police found Theberge inside his car, which sustained heavy front-end damage. Police said Theberge displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and submitted to a field sobriety test, which he failed, and a preliminary Breathalyzer test. He registered a .236 on the preliminary Breathalyzer and, at the station, he registered a .255 and .262. …

Tiverton Woman Released From Hospital After Rollover Crash

A Tiverton woman was hospitalized after a rollover crash on Fish Road on Sunday night.

  A 23-year-old Tiverton woman was rushed to a Fall River hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a rollover crash Sunday night. At 10:13 p.m., Tiverton firefighters responded to the intersection of Fish and Beth roads to extricate a woman from her 2009 Nissan Altima. When fire crews arrived, the Altima was lying on its roof, but firefighters were able to remove 23-year-old Jessica Perry of Tiverton from the car. Perry was immediately transported to St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, MA, and later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was treated and released on Monday. A preliminary investigation revealed that Perry was traveling south on Fish Road when her car left the roadway, struck a utility pole and rolled…

Woman Sustains Serious Injuries After Crash

A vehicle struck a utility pole Sunday night near Fish Road.

  A woman sustained serious injuries Sunday evening after the vehicle she was operating crashed into a utility pole on Fish Road, reports WPRI.com.  WPRI.com reports a woman's vehicle rolled over after striking the utility pole at 10:30 p.m. Emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to rescue the woman, who was then transported to a nearby hospital. Her medical condition and identity are unknown.  Several Tiverton residents reported on Tiverton Patch's Facebook page they saw flickering lights Sunday evening near the crash. Tiverton Police Chase Ends in Arrests

A police car chase ended in Westport, MA, on Sunday.

  A police chase through at least three communities ended in two men being arrested Sunday, reports The Sakonnet Times.  Police chased a vehicle reportedly stolen out of Newport on Sunday afternoon, according to the article. The chase initiated in Portsmouth, continuing into Tiverton before ending in Westport, MA, after the vehicle crashed into a highway sign on Route 88 South.  The two men, River M. Ahlquist, 18, of 1304 Eddie Dowling Highway, Lincoln, and Earl S. Dandy, 18, of 18 Washington Ave., Providence, were both arrested and charged, according to The Sakonnet Times.  To read the full article in The Sakonnet Times, click here.

Tiverton Police: Drunk and Disoderly Leads To Night In Jail

  Drunk and Disoderly Leads To Night In Jail  Derek Paul Luz, 22, of 65 Lucas St., New Bedford, MA, was arrested on Saturday, April 6 at 10:16 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly caused a scene at a local restaurant when a bartender refused to serve him any more drinks. Tiverton Police found Luz, who was reportedly highly intoxicated, yelling and screaming in the bar area at Spring Primavera Restaurant. When Luz refused to calm down even for police, he was arrested  for his disorderly behavior and held overnight at Tiverton Police headquarters. He was arraigned the next day in Second Division District Court. Domestic Charge Scott Davis, 42, of 288 Hilton St., Tiverton, turned himself into police headquarters at 5:35…

Two Injured In Crandall Road Crash on Friday

Two people were transported to Massachusetts hospitals today after a head-on collision on Crandall Road.

Two motorists were injured in a head-on collosion today on Crandall Road, according to emergency dispatching service Southern New England Alerts. The motorists were transported to Massachusetts hospitals following the crash that ocurred at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday near 966 Crandall Road. Tiverton's emergency response personnel used the jaws of life to extricate at least one driver, as the car was badly damaged in the crash. A medflight was requested by Tiverton Police as a precaution, but later canceled and both drivers were transported by ground to  St. Anne's and Charlton Memorial hospitals respectively. Tiverton Police Seek Cumberland Farms Armed Robber

Tiverton Police are seeking help in identifying an armed robbery suspect in the hold-up at Cumberland this past weekend.

  Tiverton Police are asking the community for help in identifying the man responsible for an armed robbery at Cumberland Farms over the weekend. Just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, a white man wearing sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt walked into the Main Road convenience store, pointed a gun at the female cashier and demanded money. According to Tiverton Police, the armed robber took off on foot in an unknown direction with just $45. Cumberland Farms employees do not keep large amounts of cash in their drawers and periodically make deposits in a drop-safe behind the counter. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white man, approximately 6-foot 4-inches tall in his mid-20s. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing blue jeans …

Fall River Man Arrested After Passing Out In Restaurant At 10 A.M.

A 24-year-old man was charged with felony drug possession after he passed out standing up in a bar.

  Tiverton Police were called to the scene of Stafford Road restaurant last week after two patrons fell asleep inside. It was 10 a.m. The restaurant manager reportedly called police at about 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 6 and reported a male and a female customer were passed out inside the establishment and appeared to be under the influence. According to police reports, the woman was in the middle of scratching a lottery scratch ticket when she fell asleep on the table.  The man, Joshua Dalton, 24, of 339 Neptun St., Fall River, was reportedly standing in the restaurant swaying. Tiverton Police Department Swears In 13 Officers

Thirteen Police Officers were sworn into their positions on Wednesday.

Tiverton Police Chief Thomas Blakey recognized 13 officers as they were sworn into their positions during an official ceremony at Town Hall on Wednesday. The first officer sworn in, Officer Matthew Braun, is new to the Tiverton force. Each of the other 12 officers were all recently promoted and were sworn into their official capacities:
