Tiverton Land Trust Needs Local's Help In Gaining Accreditation

The Tiverton Land Trust is seeking public commentary to include in its application for national accreditation.

The Tiverton Land Trust (TLT) is applying for national accreditation for its work in preserving and protecting important natural spaces and working lands in town. The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards. A public comment period is now open seeking local opinions on whether the TLT complies with national quality standards. The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. It will evaluate the TLT's written policies and procedures and accreditation would verify that the local land trust meets national standards both in its written and operational policy…

Today Is 'A Country Day at Pardon Gray'

Join the Tiverton Land Trust in celebrating family and community at Pardon Gray Day today at the Pardon Gray Preserve on Main Road.

"A Country Day at Pardon Gray" is finally here from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today!  Tiverton Land Trust and all the adult and student volunteers welcome the public to an exciting day of games and activities, exhibits and demonstrations, grilled BBQ and pie (topped off with a free scoop of Gray's Ice Cream), cold drinks and Coastal Roaster coffee, music and hayrides, and the marketplace of artists, crafters and other vendors.  On Main Road north of Four Corners you can't miss the huge tent, the display of antique tractors and fire trucks, the kids games, and the vendor tents.  Or just follow your nose to the hot dogs, burgers...plain, cheese, veggie, or Chourico ...plus the Grill Master's specialty, sausage, peppers & onions on a torpedo.  Or …

Saturday is 'A Country Day at Pardon Gray'

Join the Tiverton Land Trust on Saturday in celebrating Pardon Gray Day - a day when family, fun and tradition collide.

The Burma Shave signs are up along Pardon Gray Preserve on Main Road - a sure sign the Tiverton Land Trust is gearing up for 'A Country Day at Pardon Gray' on Saturday, Sept. 15. Since the first fair in 2001, families have enjoyed children's games and activities, exhibits and demonstrations, grilled barbeque and pie a la mode, music and hay rides, and the marketplace of artists, crafters and other vendors. This year the community can: Patrons will be invited to enjoy the music of local musicians Gary Farias, Bocheck, Sibling Rivalry and the Tiverton High School Strings. Countdown to Pardon Gray Day

A Country Day At Pardon Gray Preserve is just a couple days away!

Hey kids, just 1 more day until A Country Day at Pardon Gray on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pardon Gray Preserve on Main Road in Tiverton!   The event, sponsored by the Tiverton Land Trust, brings face painting, tattoos, sack races, crafts, pony rides, the nature mystery box, bean bag tosses, giant bubble making, "driving" big construction vehicles, building a bird house, decorating pumpkins, playing ring toss and horseshoes, netting ducks and "fishing" in pools. Have an up close visit with farm animals, and see honey bees in action. Take your parents on a hay ride. Watch the 2nd Regiment fire colonial muskets. Operate a lighthouse, look through astronomical telescopes, grind corn and play Native drums. Meet McGruff and Maxman…

Bring On The Family Memories at 'A Country Day At Pardon Gray'

On Saturday, Sept. 15, step out of summer and fly into fall at the 11th annual Pardon Gray Day will take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Tiverton Land Trust reminds families to bring cameras or smart phones to “A Country Day at Pardon Gray” Preserve on Saturday from 9 to 4.  In addition to capturing the activities like pumpkin decorating, musical performers like Gary Farias, and the Pooch Parade where every dog wins a prize, there will be several great photo prop stations for that special picture of a child or grandchild.

Tiverton Land Trust Gets Ready for 'A Country Day At Pardon Gray'

The annual Pardon Gray Day, a country-inspired family-oriented festival of fun is on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The fields on Pardon Gray Preserve are being hayed and baled to make space for parking and hay rides – a sure sign that Tiverton Land Trust is gearing up for "A Country Day at Pardon Gray" on Saturday, Sept. 15.  To see the activity, follow the Burma Shave signs on Main Road in Tiverton near Four Corners. Since the first “Country Day” fair in 2001, families have enjoyed children's games and activities, exhibits and demonstrations, grilled barbeque and pie a la mode, music and hayrides, and the marketplace of artists, crafters and other vendors. Volunteers Needed For Pardon Gray Day

The Tiverton Land Trust is seeking volunteers to help with Pardon Gray Day.

  The Tiverton Land Trust is seeking volunteers to help with Pardon Gray Day on Sept. 15. Volunteers are needed to help park cars, supervise childrens' activities, serve food, assist exhibitors, and more. This is a great opportunity for youth volunteers to start the school year off right and earn community service hours. Community service hours are required for all Tiverton students to graduate high school and can be accumulated from elementary school on. Volunteers are asked to sign up for one or more blocks of time between 10 a.m. and noon, noon and 2 p.m., and 2-4 p.m.  Those volunteering for two or more blocks get a free lunch. Tiverton Land Trust Inspires Appreciation For Nature With A Tour Of Summer Constellations

The Tiverton Land Trust is sponsoring an tour of the summer constellations at the Pardon Gray Preserve next Saturday.

If you have ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered how the ancient Greeks stared at those same stars and configured the shapes of hunters, gods and bulls, the Tiverton Land Trust will connect the dots for you with its Tour of the Constellations. On Saturday, Aug. 18 at 7:45 p.m. the Tiverton Land Trust will hold its Tour of the Summer Constellations at Pardon Gray Preserve. The Astronomical Association of Southern New England will set up telescopes and use laser technology to point out the Constellations of the summer skies. Visitors will have an opportunity to get an upclose view of several galaxies and more celestial wonders. For your comfort, the Land Trust recommends visitors bring a lawn chair and bug repellant.
