Katherine Lovell Studio and Gallery Opens in Tiverton Four Corners

She's holding a studio warming party on June 2.

The Mill Pond Shops in Tiverton Four Corners have a new addition this year, Katherine Lovell Studio & Gallery, which opened on the second floor in January above Amy Lund's studio and gallery. Lovell is getting the business ready for her warming party, coming up on Saturday, June 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. Lovell, a New Jersey native and graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, said she decided to come to Tiverton from Barrington last year after she participated in the South Coast Artists Open Studio Tour. "Tiverton's beautiful," she said in an interview Thursday. "There's such an artists community down here." Tiverton to Sell 2 Former Schools in a Sealed Bid Auction

Bids are due to the town by June 15.

The following is a press release: The Town of Tiverton will be selling two unused school buildings by way of a sealed bid auction with no minimum bids set. Hogan Associates Real Estate of Middletown will be conducting the auction after being awarded the contract in early March by the Tiverton Town Council. Nonquit School is located at 117 Puncateest Neck Road across from Nonquit Pond. The building consists of 14,400 square feet of living space and sits on nearly 6 acres of land. It is zoned R-80. The Walter Ranger School is located at 1185 Stafford Road and is on a busy commercial corridor of Stafford Rd. The building is over 22,000 square feet of living set on 1.1 acres. Tiverton Medical Equipment Dealer Gets Top Sales Ranking

Physicians Resource Network President Bob Gaw said he was buying and fixing used medical equipment in his Lepes Road garage for 10 years before it got off the ground.

A local man who began selling refurbished medical equipment out of his Tiverton garage on Lepes Road has reached a new level of success. Dotmed, Inc. a medical equipment publication, recently ranked Physicians Resource Network, Inc. (PRN), a medical equipment sales and service company based at 218 Shove St., Fall River, the number one medical equipment dealer in the United States. DotMed ranks its top 100 users based on user feedback to promote honest dealings and ethical behavior among its users. Mello's Farm Stand Enters 29th Year Providing Fresh Produce

The Tiverton family farm is accepting shareholders for their community-support agriculture program.

Looking to increase your consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables while supporting local farms? Mello's Farm Stand, based in Tiverton, is now accepting community-supporting agriculture (CSA) shareholders for their 2012 season. Farmer Laura Mello said it's her family's 29th year operating the farmstand, which is located under a tent at 364 Boyds Lane, Portsmouth. It will be their fourth year operating a CSA, which is open from July to October. "We're a family farm," Mello said in a recent interview, adding that her husband Art started the business. "It's a little stand, but we get really good business there." Some of the crops they grow include sweet corn, tomatoes, green and yellow squash, leaf lettuce, raspberries and pumpkins, among …

VIDEO: Evelyn's Drive-In Enters 40th Year of Business

The seafood destination enters its first weekend of the new season. Patch went into Evelyn's kitchen to see the fried clams and lobster rolls up close.

When seafood enthusiasts from all over the world visit the Ocean State, Tiverton's Evelyn's Drive-In is a top destination, overlooking the tranquil waters of Nanaquaket Pond. They enter their 40th year of business, going into the first weekend of the new season. Owners Jane and Dom Bitto have managed the business for 26 of those years, buying it on July 4, 1985 from founder Evelyn Dupont when she moved to Florida. "We've been blessed," said Jane, citing all the media attention they've received over the years, including a visit from the Food Network. "It's been good for us. Tiverton Council Releases Disputed Funds Back to Schools

7 p.m.  The meeting begins. 7:04 p.m. Council votes 7-0 to accept the consent agenda. 7:05 p.m. Council President Jay Lambert reads proclamation for National Library Week for April 8 to April 14. Liquor license approved for Wally's Tap House 7:19 p.m. Council votes 7-0 to approve BV liquor license for Susan's Restaurant, Inc., which is becoming Wally's Tap House. Owner Joe Faria said he increased the number of seats in his revamped space and moved his bar to accomodate a higher number of patrons. He said it was approved by the fire marshal. VIDEO: Crowds Flock To Tiverton's New Grocery Store

Tiverton-Little Compton Patch commenters rejoiced in getting a new grocery store. A couple took issue with the parking lot.

Although turnout numbers are not immediately available for the opening weekend of Tom's Market in Tiverton, flurries of people flocked on Friday to check out the new grocery store. Here's a sampling of Patch comments about Tom's Market. A couple users highlighted an issue driving in the parking lot. Do you agree? Lilla Woodhouse - Went today to celebrate Tom's opening! Tiverton Tom's Market Ready For Opening Weekend

It's first full day is Friday at 8 a.m.

The shelves are stocked, scales adjusted, equipment operating, front parking lot refinished and the front exterior decal "Tom's Market: Fresh, Local, Exceptional" unveiled. Friday at 8 a.m. is the opening day for Tiverton's new grocery store. It's the first grocery store in town since the Grand Central Market closed in 2006, and aims to compete with Clements' Market in Portsmouth, the chain stores in southern Fall River and Lee's Market in Westport. Every last item on the punchlist was prepped Wednesday for opening weekend. Workers from the Associated Grocers of America stocked the dairy section.
