High School Student Allegedly Caught With Marijuana Joshua J. Ferreira, 18, of 399 Judson St., Tiverton, was arrested on Jan. 3 at 8:39 a.m. and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense. The Tiverton High School principal and vice principal allegedly found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Ferreira around 8:15 a.m. while he was on school grounds. Tiverton Police seized a pipe, a small bowl and a plastic container with marijuana inside. Ferreira was taken into custody and later released. Tiverton Woman Arrested on Assault Charges Pamela A. Levakis, 50, of 173 Russell Drive, Tiverton, was arrested on Jan. 2 at 8:40 a.m. and charged with simple assault. Levakis was wanted on a warrant for an earlier assault and she was picked up …

21-Year-Old Tiverton Man Charged With Second DUI, Driving Double The Speed Limit On Route 24 Marc Miller, 21, of 95 Topsail Drive, Tiverton, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 15 at 2:53 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence, second offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Tiverton Police observed Miller's vehicle speeding on Route 24 south near the Sakonnet River Bridge after an officer clocked him driving more than double the speed limit. Police allege Miller was driving 82 mph in a marked 40 mph zone. Miller took the Main Road off ramp and police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Main and Souza roads. A traffic stop turned into an arrest for multiple gun and drug charges after Tiverton Police stopped his car for a non-functioning headlight on Dec. 12.
A 33-year-old Fall River man is facing two felony weapons charges after police found a gun, marijuana and three large knives during a Dec. 12 traffic stop. Tiverton police stopped Dean C. Hillman's vehicle on Stafford Road just before 5 p.m. because of a non-functioning headlight. As police approached the car they noticed his inspection was expired and allegedly detected a smell of marijuana coming from the car. Police requested Hillman exit the vehicle so police could conduct a search. As Hillman, of 16 Margaret Court, Fall River, exited the car, he informed police he was carrying a loaded Glock 26 9mm pistol. The gun was concealed in a belt. Tiverton Man Arrested On Bench Warrant Kevin Dias, 32, of 19 Mill St., Tiverton, was arrested on Nov. 30 at 5:03 p.m. on a bench warrant from Second Division District Court. According to Tiverton Police reports, police went to Dias residence for a warrant check because they knew he was wanted on a warrant and owned $1,900 fees. Domestic Vandalism On Terrace Avenue Jonathan Paul Nunes, 19, of 25 Terrace Ave., Tiverton, was arrested on Dec. 2 at 6:19 p.m. and charged with domestic vandalism. According to reports, Nunes was arguing with his father when he allegedly smashed a picture frame on the floor. 21-Year-Old Tiverton Man Charged With Drunken Driving, 3 Times Over Legal Limit Marc N. Fleming, 21, of 519 Fish Road, Tiverton, was arrested on Friday, Nov. 9 and charged with driving under the influence, first offense. Police stopped Fleming at 12:52 a.m. for driving 69 mph in a 25 mph zone on Stafford Road near the Muddy Moose Restaurant and Pub. During the stop, the officer observed signs of intoxication and asked Fleming to submit to a field sobriety test. He agreed, failed and was taken into custody. After returning to police headquarters, Fleming took a breathalyzer test, registering .234 and .233 - nearly three times the legal limit.Fleming was charged with DUI, and cited for speeding, seat belt and turn signal violations. Tiverton police arrested an alleged bank robber at Bliss Four Corners on Oct. 30.
Tiverton police arrested a 28-year-old Westport man on Tuesday, Oct. 30 on a Massachusetts warrant for bank robbery, reports the Sakonnet Times. At 9:36 a.m. Shawn Martin, 28, of Westport, was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice under a Fall River arrest warrant for bank robbery. Police stopped Martin and his passenger after staking out the Hess gas station near Bliss Corners. Police charged the passenger, Keith Cummings, 48, of Fall River, with obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duties after Cummings allegedly interfered with police. Arrests do not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Tiverton Man Turns Himself in on Multiple Domestic Charges John Kazen, 30, of 174 Main Road, Tiverton, turned himself into Tiverton Police headquarters on Oct. 10. He was wanted on two domestic charges stemming from a Sept. 23 incident. According to reports, Kazen's girlfriend called police on the date of the incident and reported he had assaulted her. Kazen allegedly head-butted the victim in the face during an argument, causing a bulge and bruise above her left eye. Kazen was not on scene when police arrived and a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic assault He was arrainged in district court and later released on $1,000 personal recognizance. A routine traffic stop lead to arrest for one Providence man last week after police found marijuana and Hydrocodone in his car.
Tiverton Police arrested a 31-year-old Providence man on drug charges after he was stopped for driving 67 mph over the Sakonnet River Bridge. Ross Clyde, 31, of 81 Gallatin Road, Providence was stopped on Oct. 2 at 11:43 p.m. for speeding near the Sakonnet River Bridge after police clocked his speed at 67 mph. The road is zoned 40 mph. When police approached the car, they detected an odor of marijuana and located a marijuan cigarette in the ashtray of Ross's car. During the search, polic also found a clear plastic bag with two while pills later identified as Hydrocodone. Tiverton Police arrested a local man on multiple drug charges on Tuesday.
Tiverton Police arrested a 31-year-old Tiverton man on charges of drug possession and driving under the influence. Jason Toste, 31, of 253 Holly Circle, Tiverton, was arrested on Oct. 2 at 5:21 p.m. after police received a call that there was an erratic driver in the area of Bulgarmarsh Road. Officers caught up with Toste on Holly Circle. Toste was reportedly leaning over in his car and appeared disoriented. Police noted that he had a knife with its blade extended in his hand. During search of Toste's vehicle, police found needles, two bags of heroin and Toste allegedly admitted to having marijuana in his pocket. At the station, Toste refused a chemical test.
