Alex and Ani Launches Seven Swords Media

The growing Cranston-based lifestyle brand announced purchased Sakonnet Vineyards last year.

Alex and Ani CEO Giovanni Feroce announced yesterday the official launch of Seven Swords Media.  In March of 2012, Alex and Ani, LLC. purchased a majority interest in MediaPeel, LLC., which formed the basis of Seven Swords Media. Since that announcement, Alex and Ani has purchased the remaining shares of MediaPeel, thus acquiring the agency as a wholly owned subsidiary.  In the last few weeks of 2012, Seven Swords Media acquired Animal, a design studio and video agency, and Bella Consulting and Events in order to round out the capabilities originally envisioned as a full service media and advertising agency. “We initially entered into this arena because it made financial sense for us to utilize our own media company.  Since those early …

Little Compton's Sakonnet Vineyards Sells For $8.95 Million

Alex And Ani Buys Another RI Business

Alex and Ani, the jewelry design business that bought Sakonnet Vineyards in Little Compton earlier this month, is partnering with Wilson's of Wickford.

Alex and Ani, the jewelry designer who purchasd Sakonnet Vineyards in July, is in the works to buy another Rhode Island mainstay business. The Cranston-based jeweler announced it will purchase Wilson’s of Wickford. The 68-year-old clothing retailer became plagued with financial difficulties earlier this year when it was forced to declare bankruptcy to save its store in Wickford Village from foreclosure. This announcement by CEO Giovanni Feroce is the just the latest foray away from the company's jewelry-manufacturing roots. "We have a Main Street strategy," said Alexandra Zaso, public relations coordinator, in an interview on Wednesday. Cranston's Alex and Ani Buys Sakonnet Vineyards

Alex and Ani is fulfilling CEO Giovanni Feroce's promises earlier this year that "big things are coming" for the company, which started as a jewelry maker and now bills itself as a "lifestyle, eco-friendly brand."

The company whose charms and bracelets have developed an eager following around the world in just a few short years, Alex and Ani, is branching out. Or maybe it should be said the Cranston-based jewelery and lifestyle brand is spreading vines.  The company announced yesterday that it has purchased Sakonnet Vineyards in Little Compton. "All of us at Alex and Ani are excited about taking Sakonnet Vineyards to the next level of achievement," company CEO Giovanni Feroce said in a press release announcing the purchase. Crews Extinguish Garage Fire at Sakonnet Vineyards

Little Compton and Tiverton fire crews quickly put out a garage fire at Sakonnet Vineyards on Sunday morning.

A barn fire at Sakonnet Vineyards on Sunday morning was quickly snuffed out by Little Compton and Tiverton fire personnel. According to Little Compton Fire Chief Richard Petrin, a 911 call for smoke in the building was received a little after 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 17. The vineyards' fire alarm company also contacted the fire department. Petrin said the fire was contained within a maintenance garage attached to the vineyards' main building, but it did not spread. He said they were able to knock the fire down fire in roughly 15 minutes. The cause and where the fire started are under investigation by the State Fire Marshals Office, Petrin added. One great thing about Rhode Island in the summer for me is there is no snow. Instead of boots stomping through the snow, we can have our bare feet massaged by the sand. I love the beach. During the day there is a fun flutter of activity. An evening stroll at the beach has its appeal, too. Feeling the cool sand and hearing the rippling waves is just so relaxing.
