People of all ages lined up outside the new Tom's Market in Tiverton Tuesday for the first day of a recruitment fair. The line stretched behind the Dunkin' Donuts next door. The fair continues today at 492 Main Road from 4 to 6 p.m. Almost 350 people showed up Tuesday to apply for one of 40 positions expected to be filled. Reached late Tuesday, co-owner Glenn Place said they've already culled through the first round of applicants, will take the second round Wednesday and make phone calls by the weekend. The following is from a press release issued by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training: Tom's Market, in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training's Business Workforce Center, plans to hire up to 40 people to staff its newest market opening later this month. A recruitment fair will be held at the new location, 492 Main Road, Tiverton, on Tuesday, March 13, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday, March 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. Jobs are available both for highly experienced individuals and for those seeking entry-level opportunities.
