Obituary: Mary "Polly" Babcock Pitts, John Ray Goulart and Carlton Coggshall Brownell

Three Little Compton residents passed away last week.

Mary "Polly" Babcock Pitts, 85, formerly of Little Compton, died Feb. 4, 2013, with her four children at her side. She was the widow of Dr. John D. Pitts. She was an active member of the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Society of Colonial Dames and was also an avid tennis player and golfer, a devotee of music and dancing, an accomplished gardener and an ardent animal lover. John Ray Goulart, 98, died peacefully in his wife's arms at their home in Little Compton, on Feb. 9, 2013. They were married for 72 years. In 1939, he opened the Little Compton Cash Market. This would later become Goulart's Package Store which he owned and operated until retiring in 1980. John served on the Little Compton Town Council as well as several church …

Manuel Renasco, Jr., 87, formerly of West Main Road in Little Compton died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Clare (Burke) Renasco.  A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Saturday, Dec. 1 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. He was buried in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, also in Little Compton. Obituary: Natalie Anderson

Natalie Anderson, 94, of Bristol died on Saturday at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol surrounded by her family - many of whom are from Tiverton.

  Natalie Louise (Hanson) Anderson, 94, of Bristol, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the Silver Creek Manor in Bristol surrounded by her family.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Leroy Hanson and the late Katherine Louise (Miller) Hanson. She was the wife of the late Robert Earl Anderson and sister of the late Virginia (Hanson) Bell. Natalie was a graduate East Providence High School (1936) and lived in Warren for 58 years before moving to North Farm in Bristol in 2001.  She worked in the office of The Grinnell Company in Providence, and later in the office of American Tourister Luggage in Warren, retiring in 1987.   She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren for nearly 70 years, teaching …

Stephen M. Melidossian, of Tiverton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8.

  The following information comes from Nardolillo Funeral Home. Stephen M. Melidossian, formerly of Stafford Road, Tiverton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at South County Hospital in Wakefield.  He was 67 years old. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy R. (Joyce) Melidossian. Melidossian was the former owner of Mel’s Motors on Broad Street in Providence for 30 years.  He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and enjoyed boating and the ocean. He is survived by his children, Stephen S. Melidossian and Dru K. Melidossian, both of Narragansett and Kalyn W.
