Little Compton Police: Unlicensed, Assault and a Scam

No License to Drive Jairo-Adonias Mota-Ramos, 21, of Providence, was arrested on Sept. 26 at 3:37 p.m. and charged with driving without a license. After a computer check, police learned he did not have a license to drive. He was arrested and returned to the station for processing. It was at Little Compton Police Headquarters, officers learned he was wanted by ICE on a detainerfor deportation. He was held and later released to Bristol County Sheriff’s custody. Domestic Assault Charge John F. Ingalls, 53, of 288 Long Highway, Little Compton, was arrested on Sept. 30 at 8:31 p.m. and charged with domestic assault. Little Compton Police: 10 Cars Broken Into On Wild Cherry and Pleasant View Drives

The following reports were supplied by the Little Compton Police Department. Arrests do not necessarily indicate convictions.

Rash of Car Thefts At least 10 cars were broken into sometime between 9 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 4. The cars broken into were all on either Wild Cherry Drive and Pleasant View Drive. According to the reports, the vehicles were rummaged through and various items were taken from some of the vehicles including an Ipod, a GPS, sunglasses, a wallet and a flashlight. Domestic Assault Charge John Babbitt, 57, of 81 Amy Hart Path, Little Compton, was arrested on Sept. 8 at 5:16 p.m. and charged with domestic simple assault. According to reports, the Little Comptong Police arrested Babbitt after he was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend. Little Compton Police: DUIs and Vandalism

18-Year-Old Arrested on Drunken-Driving Charge Joseph Noe ,18, of 85 Freemont St., Taunton, MA, was arrested on Saturday, July 21 at 8:15 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence, first offense. According to reports, Noe was arrested after Little Compton Police stopped his car on South Shore Road for excessive speed. Lifeguard Chair Tipped Over A resident reported on Wednesday, July 18 at 8:02 a.m. that someome tipped over a  lifeguard chair and stole two small orange flags. Police are investifating the matter.

Little Compton Police: Vandalism And A Found Wet Suit

Vandalism Little Compton Police received a report on Monday, July 2 at 12:14 p.m. that someone had vandalized the Warrens Point Beach Club Found A local man returned a wetsuit to  Little Compton Police headquarters on Simmons Road. on Wednesday, July 4 at 1:17 p.m. He had reportedly found the wetsuit lying in the middle of the road on Willow Avenue.

Little Compton Police Seize 4 Pot Plants

Fall River Man Arrested With 4 Pot Plants In Car Brenton Dewsnap, age 20, Fall River, MA, was arrested on Wednesday, June 20 at 8:20 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana. Little Compton Police stopped Dewsnap on Colebrook Road and officers detected the odor of unburnt marijuana coming from inside the car. After questioning Dewsnap, he allegedly admitted to having marijuana plants inside. After a search of the car, police seized four marijuana plants. He was arrested and charged. Warrants:

Little Compton Police: Pot Possession, Drunken Driving and A Smashed Birdhouse

Arrest Warrant Elias Desouza, 21, of 27 William Sisson Road, Little Compton, was arrested on June 15 at 7:17 p.m. on an oustanding warrant for nonpayment of Second District Court fines. Driving In Possession Of Alcohol Mark Hassan, 19, of 745 Union St., Portsmouth, was arrested June 15 at 8:56 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving with a presence of alcohol in his car after police stopped him for allegedly speeding. Drunken Driving Timothy Nadeau, 23, of 206 Forge Road, Westport, was arrested on June 17 at 5:40 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence after the car he was driving was involved in a collision on Main Street. Nadeau's passenger was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Stolen …

Man Without License Allegedly Tells Police He's An Illegal Alien

Little Compton police cited a man for speeding and driving without a license when he then reportedly admitted he was in the country illegally. Paulo Melo, 38, of Fall River, MA was taken into custody at 8:06 p.m., Friday, June 8. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license. Melo was reportedly found speeding on Crandall Road and was pulled over on Main Street. According to police, Melo admitted he did not have a license, nor had he ever applied. In speaking with him further, Melo allegedly said he was in the country illegally and that he had already been deported in 2005. Police said Melo was transported back to the station and processed and was then transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution in …

Little Compton Police: Pot Possession, Arrest Warrant and Vandalized Car

Pot possession Shane Gallagher, 25, of Attleboro, MA, was arrested at 5:37 p.m., Monday, May 28. He was charged with possession of marijuana. Gallagher was stopped for speeding on West Main Road and officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to Little Compton police. After a search, officers found a bag of marijuana on Gallagher. He was arrested, booked and later arraigned. Arrest warrant Samuel Billings, 26, of Attleboro, was a passenger in Gallagher's car at the time of the May 28 arrest. He was taken into custody on an oustanding warrant for not paying court fines. Little Compton Police: 2 DUIs, Warrant Arrest and Several Incidents

Man charged with driving three times over the legal limit Wilfred Charette, 26, 16 North Drive, Portsmouth, was arrested at 7:09 p.m., Sunday, May 27. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (BAC of .15 or greater). Little Compton police stopped Charette on West Main Road after they received a call of a vehicle "all over the road." Officers reportedly saw the same behavior when they followed Charette before conducting the stop. After a brief investigation, police determined he was under the influence. Charette reportedly failed a series of field sobriety tests and was arreated. According to police, he took a breathalyzer test back at the station and allegedly blew just over three times …

Little Compton Police: Domestic Vandalism, Pot Possession and Car Hits Street Sweeper

Domestic vandalism Justin Crane, 25, of 11 Sun and Sea Dr., North Dartmouth, MA was arrested at 7:23 p.m., Monday May 14. He was charged with domestic vandalism. Little Compton police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and after a brief investigation, reportedly charged with Crain after allegedly damaging several items in his grandmother's home. Pot possession Car hits street sweeper A vehicle driven by a Fall River man struck a street sweeper at the intersection of Long Highway and Colebrook Road at 11:59 a.m. Friday, May 18. No one was injured, and the vehicle sustained a flat tire.
