Council Learns Buddy's Place In Receivership

On Monday night, the Tiverton Town Council learned that Buddy's Place, which owes the town over $9,000 in back taxes, was placed into receivership. The matter will be taken up in the spring once the payments are made.

When the Tiverton Town Council withheld the liquor license renewal for Buddy's Place, located at 79 Main Road, in late November for not paying their taxes, a Providence attorney was appointed to become the temporary receiver for the failed catering business, the council learned on Monday night during public hearing. "My office has secured that building and it will not be operating," said Vincent Indeglia, of Ferrucci Russo P.C., who is handling the Buddy's Place receivership process. "There will be no liquor being served."
