The Tiverton Police Department arrested a 31-year-old North Dartmouth woman connected to at least 10 break-ins across Tiverton and southeastern Massachusetts on Tuesday.

A 31-year-old North Dartmouth woman got more than she bargained for when she visited the Tiverton Police Department to claim hundreds of dollars in jewelry on Tuesday. Kristen L. Dacosta, of 22 College Lane Apt. 1A, North Dartmouth visited police headquarters on Industrial Way to just before 11 a.m. According to police, Dacosta attempted to claim jewelry and gold suspected to be stolen by the department. Tiverton Police didn't fall for Dacosta's story, however, because New Bedford Police tipped the department off just prior to the woman's arrival. Dacosta was being tracked by a court-ordered GPS on her car and was wanted by New Bedford Police in connection with at least 10 break-ins throughout New Bedford, Dartmouth, Taunton and Somerset. …
