James L. Allen, died unexpectedly on Dec. 3, 2012. He was 84 years old. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital from the Veterans Home in Bristol, RI where he resided after living with his family in Tiverton. He was the husband of Viola (Broome) Allen. Mr. Allen was born in Waterbury, CT on Feb. 24, 1928, the son of the late Lawrence Gilbert and Alice (Gibbons) Allen. James L. Allen grew up in Providence where he graduated from Lasalle Academy and Bryant College. He was a sales representative for U.S. Rubber Co. where he covered the New England States and Globe Mfg.
