Hollywood Hits Home For Tiverton Drama Students

Drama students got a peek behind the curtain on Wednesday when 35-year show business veteran Mary Lampert shared her experience in the industry.

  Tiverton drama students know better than most that the glamour of the big screen is an illusion. Tireless hours of rehearsing lines, building sets and organizing props have given Gloria Crist's high school students a taste at the hard work that goes into creating a theatrical production.  But even theatrics are a incommensurable with the detail and precision that are expected in the movies.  For a little more than an hour, 35-year show business veteran Mary Lampert captured her behind-the-scenes insight for Tiverton High School's Drama Club, weaving the story of hard work perseverance and just a little bit of luck that have defined her career. LETTER: Tiverton and the Great Divide

Tiverton 1st Coordinator Gloria Crist writes a letter to the editor.

  To the Editor: If ever there was a time in the history of Tiverton to look at the function of systems in relation to government and management: that time is now. If ever there was a time for the Tiverton community to come together and vote for the clear choice for change-that time is now.  If not, I am afraid Tiverton will fail to work for the best of Tiverton, for the greater good. For the last two years under the guidelines-albeit, questionable, of the TCC/Town Council- Tiverton has been experiencing a quiet and destructive shift, a divide. 'Fame - The Musical' Takes Center Stage at Tiverton High School

The performance runs May 10 through May 13.

The following is a press release: "Fame - The Musical,' conceived and developed by David De Silva is set to take center stage in the Tiverton High School Auditorium, May 10 through May 13! The show is directed by Gloria Crist, with musical direction by Patrick Krystman, choreography by Jenni Santos and vocal direction by Barbara Youmans.
