Panthers' Strength Outmatches Tigers in Injury Fund Game
Johnston High School uses its superior height and experience to post a 48-35 Injury Fund victory over visiting Tiverton.
Size and experience matter. A tall and veteran Johnston High School girls' basketball team used those assets to register a 48-35 victory over youthful Tiverton High School Monday night in an Injury Fund game played on the Panthers' home court in the 2010-11 season debut for both squads. Six-foot-one senior center Alaina Denoncour poured in a game-high 22 points and junior forward Giana Mazzulla netted 10 points as Johnston produced 11-0 and 10-0 streaks to forge commanding leads before holding off a late charge by the Tigers.
