Deadly New Virus Warning Issued After Eight Deaths
The same virus that caused SARS is responsible for at least eight deaths.
A deadly new virus has sickened more than a dozen people and killed eight in the Arabian peninsula and the United Kingdom, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Of the total number, seven cases, including five deaths, have been reported from Saudi Arabia. The coronaviruses, is a large family of viruses that can cause mild symptoms from the common cold to SARS. This particular strain of coronavirus — Novel Coronavirus — has not been previously identified in humans.
