THS Students Hear From Victims of Bullying
The consequences of bullying have taken the national spotlight. Tiverton High School spent all week educating its students by raising awareness about successful strategies and programs to combat bullying.
Being a recipient of bullying can have a lasting effect on one's life, social status and can cause depression. As a result, self-esteem and intimidation issues can arise and dramatically impact one's life. Tiverton High School has been addressing anti-bullying concerns all week in light of the recent National Anti-Bullying Week, and on Thursday, their Peer Helping Network (PHN) held a presentation in the auditorium with guest speakers whose lives have been deeply affected by acts of bullying. PHN just surpassed its 10th year in May. Speakers told students how to address bullying, how it has affected public schools and what its different forms are.
