New Ambulance Sought by Little Compton Fire Department

The Little Compton Fire Department is looking at purchasing a new Ford Road Rescue in the next few months, and are currently seeking bids while drafting schematics for what they need.

The Little Compton Fire Department is currently advertising for a new ambulance to replace its 7-year-old Ford Road Rescue, says its fire chief. "The truck gets a lot of wear and tear," said Chief Richard Petrin. "We'd like another Ford, a newer model with a chassis." There is about $175,000 in the department's budget prepared to purchase the new vehicle, according to Petrin, and the need for a new rescue vehicle began about four months ago when fire fighters began bringing it up. "We've looked at four to six trucks and the guys have been going through the specs," he said. Petrin said he hopes to receive three bids on the new vehicle and the town will have 200 days to build the new rescue once it is delivered to the Little Compton Public …
