According to a letter sent out from the Salve Regina University President, the driver was a university professor.
Police said Jennifer Allen was suspicious of a personal connection between an employee of Franklin & Company Design Associates and Allen's husband, which led her to the confrontation on Memorial Boulevard.
Newport Police reports said a woman allegedly threatened people inside 11 Memorial Blvd. with a gun before turning it on herself.
