Here is an answer to the question, without reading the article. I will let the jury decide in aRead More court of law and ignore the one sided reporting that is sure to follow. I choose ot ignore the extension of the government known as mainstream media.

One positive thing? Um... she never became President?

AN ANALYSIS  WORTH READING: by Dick Morris, former political advisor to President Bill ClintonRead More beware as I was there for most of their presidency and know them better than just about anyone, I offer a few corrections; The facts are: Hillary's main extra-curricular activity in law school was helping the Black Panthers, on trial in Connecticut for torturing and killing a federal agent. The facts are:  Hillary interned with Bob Truehaft, the head of the California Communist Party. The facts are:   She flunked the DC bar exam, yes, flunked,  it is a matter of record, and only passed the Arkansas bar. The facts are:  Her main board activity, was to sit on the Wal-Mart board of directors, for a substantial fee. She was silent about their labor and health care practices. The facts are: Her visits abroad were entirely touristic and symbolic and there was no substantive diplomacy on any of them. One cannot think of a single bill Hillary has introduced or a single comment she has made that would tend to strengthen our country in the War on Terror. Think  about it - he's (Dick Morris) said all of this openly, thus if he were not truthful he'd be liable for defamation of  character! And you better believe Hilary would sue him.

This is a great article. If your financial institution has guarantees on fraudulent charges and theyRead More try to stick you with the bill or change certain terms and conditions without consideration or notice, make sure you seek legal advice from an attorney. It is very important that you check your credit report annually. You can check your credit report for free on the website mandated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which can be found at www.annualcreditreport.com.

Cops got a chance to play with their toys. Relax people. It's not like you had to respondRead More personally. Stop saying it's a waste of money. Then money is absolutely minimal. These guys were not called away from their golf games. I would also like to compliment the responders for not accidentally killing someone. It showed professionalism and did not add to the "trend" of killing "innocent" people; which is becoming an issues to watch. The people incensed over this should focus their anger on plastic shopping bags as many others are doing over at another great Patch piece. Evil lurks at the checkout counters across America!

@Black Panther of Poetry What do you see that is racist about my comment?
Seamus Carty April 23, 2014 at 06:44 pm
Why do we discriminate based on race to show that discrimination based on race is wrong?

"The goal of Affirmative was to right an over two hundred years wrong." My family did notRead More get to the US until 1948. Are we part of the two hundred years of wrong? Why should my orthopedic surgeon's kid get preferential treatment over my nephew (son of a plumber) based on the relative complexions?
Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.

National Governor’s Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers are private,Read More no-profit organizations. They are NOT government agencies. Therefore the STATES DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO CCSS.
Matt Miller April 23, 2014 at 04:53 pm
So educational professionals and people that hire these students out of college or high schoolRead More shouldn't have a seat at the table? Who should make curriculum decisions? The local school board member that doesn't know anything about a high quality education? The state government that might think creationism and abstinence only education is still what our children should be learning? I'd rather have the Common Core which brought together education professionals from all of the states to make sure my kids have a leg up when they graduate High School. They also brought in companies that have decades of education or hiring experience. What's wrong with having people that know what they are talking about, setting our policy? I'd rather have professionals making these decisions and not some groups that create facebook pages and youtube videos demonizing Common Core because they don't want to listen to the facts.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! Sorry, Autistic boy, but there are a multitude of crimes here. These so called 'friends' abused youRead More terribly ~ called 'bullying', & that alone cannot be tolerated. Half of the kids who get school lunch leave most of it on their plate. I know RI is a small stateRead More but that small amount is going to amount to nothing, the breakfast for lunch like cereal or yogurt needs to go they need things that will actually fill them up!

I agree with B. Dub 100%! How was this kid able to scale a fence and just walk right over to theRead More plane? TSA: for all the harassing you do in the terminal...you ain't all that!! As far as the kid being a runaway..maybe he does face some serious abuse issues at home. He's damn lucky to be alive. But, I raised three boys, and a 16 year old boy can runaway for any collage of reasons. My kids never ran away but, I'm wondering if the fact that the plane was going to HAWAII has anything to do with it. It sounds a little compulsive to me. CPA need good follow up on this. Thank you lucky stars kid!

So many excellent points. :) Like it was said here, I adore my iPad for magazines and newspapers. NoRead More more piles of magazines in the bedroom or overflowing recycling bins; no more issues lost in the mail! And, yes, as Book Oasis and others said, regular books will never be replaced. I think many of us will always use both. After all, when I meet my favorite authors, they can't sign my iPad, can they?! ;)

@Tim H: Such a great point on the text-to-speech. I haven't explored this fully yet, but I justRead More started an Audible account. I downloaded a Doctor Who book with my free credit. But I got the Audible account for precisely what you said: Being able to read, switch to listening, then go back to reading. Maybe another blog post is in the works......
Tim H April 23, 2014 at 11:52 am
@Danielle, the audible only works good on your smartphone or an MP3 player. You can use it at theRead More gym when reading may not be as convenient (try rowing while reading -- listening works). Or go for a walk outdoors while listening to a book... just be careful crossing streets. I believe there are pronunciations issues with the text-to-speech as it tries to simulate speech instead of being an actual recording like the audio books. Each has it's advantages.
