United Congregational Church
United Congregational Church is located on The Commons in Little Compton. As a coastal church, it has survived many harsh winters and natural disasters. Multiple refurbishings have kept it standing strong through the years. Older than the United States, the church was organized in 1704 and the first structure went up in 1724. When demolished in 1832, its timbers were used to form the United Congregational Church that stands today. Over the years, a vestry, steeple, stairs, an entry and a belfry were added. Its history has been shaped by 34 ministers. Today the church is overseen by Rev. Richard S. DenUyl, Jr. The children's Circle Time meets downstairs every Sunday at 9:45am. Sunday worship begins at 10am, and Sunday School at 10:15am, with dismissal at 11am. The church has a thrift shop that's open May through November, Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
