A Bit of Broadway Comes To Area This Weekend

Check out this event happening this weekend.

The Dr. Robert A. Davidson Charitable Fund presents Broadway From Then 'til Now 4, a concert of Broadway show tunes, old and new, plus a little extra.

The concert, which benefits Portsmouth schools and Looking Upwards, as well as other local causes, takes place this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Portsmouth High School.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children, ages 10 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased at www.BroadwayPortsmouth.eventbrite.com or 401-683-2824

The concert is organized by professional actor/musicians Laurie Davidson Spaner, daughter of Dr. Davidson, and her husband Craig Spaner of Portsmouth, who have many years of experience performing in the Boston area as well as RI, NY, and CT.

Joining Mr. and Mrs. Spaner in the group of 16 singers, 3 dancers, and 8 band members will be Alexis Alvanas, Brittany Croston, Sara Moore, Abby Moore,

Jenna Roderiques, Andreas Evangelatos, Katie Spaner and Kim Kekligian
Stamoulis of Portsmouth, Lily Ferreira and John Thomas Cunha of Middletown, Leslie Zeile of Newport, Bristol native Adam Cavalieri, and several Boston area professionals will also join the show.

The special guest is Mr. Richard Price, Portsmouth Middle School Band Director. Choreography is performed by Leslie Zeile and Katie Ross.

The Dr. Robert A. Davidson Charitable Fund was formed in memory of Dr. Robert A. Davidson, known to most as Bob or Dr. D., who was a Portsmouth resident who practiced dentistry in Tiverton for 37 years.

The fund is dedicated to raising money for local community causes.  Bob was dedicated to his family and his community, especially children, so the organizations chosen seemed a perfect fit.  Also, eight of Dr. Davidson’s
grandchildren attend Portsmouth Schools, with one more to go.
