Tiverton Firefighters Fix Up The 3 Stations

Most of the work was completed this spring.

The three Tiverton fire stations saw some upgrades this spring as members of the volunteered weekend time to refurbish various interior and exterior parts of the buildings.

Lt. Craig Committo said Station #2 on Main Road just received new vinyl siding and they painted the remaining exterior in a tear drop off white, as well as fixed the broken curbing out front. With some of the work at the stations, including knocking down a wall at Station #2, Committo credited staff for the help. The renovations were paid for out of the department's budget.

A "Rescue 2" and "Engine 2" signs above the garage bays will soon be added.

"The guys volunteered a lot of their time," he said.

At on East Road, they did a total rehab of the interior, led by firefighter David Haddad. Committo said the work included fixing plumbing, electrical as well as remodeling the kitchen space, living space and adding a new bunk. The same work was completed at .
