Bunny Gimmick Hops Around Little Compton Driveways

A local church youth group is placing the wooden bunnies on driveways, seeking donations to the American Cancer Society to keep the bunnies moving.

Random Little Compton driveways are seeing an increase of rascally rabbits.

Resident Laurie Anderson said she noticed a large wooden Easter bunny appearing at the end of different Long Highway driveways when traveling to and from work. She asked some friends who said they, too, noticed rabbit cut-outs appearing around town, but no clue as to why.

Curious recently, Anderson got out of her car, saw a note pinned to the rabbit and sent in some photos to Patch.

The 's youth group is behind the bunny gimmick, sending residents a bunny as part of their "Bunny Hop For Life" fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society. The note states that recipients of the bunny are being asked to make a good will donation so Peter Cottontail hops down the bunny trail into someone elses yard. Recipients can choose who they send it to next.

The youth group also plans to participate in the Relay For Life in Middletown on May 18 and May 19.
