Tiverton High Snubbed in Top 5 State Rankings

US News & World Report this week released its annual report of the nation's top high schools.

US News & World Report released its annual report of the nation's top high schools Tuesday and Tiverton High School was excluded from the list of top five Rhode Island public schools.

Barrington High School was ranked No. 1.

The report found:

  • Tiverton High has a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio (state average was 12:1)
  • Its "college readiness" score was 14.6 out of 100, which was about the state average
  • 35 percent of students were proficient in math
  • 85 percent of students were proficient in English
