Sandywoods Farmers Market in Tiverton Launches Its Summer Season!

The Sandywoods Farmers Market is held every Thursday from 4-7 pm at 43 Muse Way in Tiverton, behind the Bulgarmarsh Recreation Area. Credit cards and SNAP EBT cards are accepted.

On Thursday, May 23rd, the Sandywoods Farmers Market, which started in January as a winter farmers market, will move outdoors and launch its 24-week summer/fall season. The market will be held, rain or shine, every Thursday from 4-7 pm, through October 31st. In the event of bad weather, market vendors will set up shop inside the spacious Sandywoods Center for the Arts.

Admission to the market is free. Live music, demonstrations and workshops, and other special events will be offered each week throughout the summer.

The market is located on the grounds of the Sandywoods arts and agricultural community at 43 Muse Way in Tiverton, directly behind the Bulgarmarsh Recreation Area, which offers market customers and their children safe and convenient access to a playground, basketball courts, and Tiverton's new skate park. Tiverton Land Trust hiking trails are also within walking distance of the market, and market visitors can tour the Van Vessem Art Gallery while at Sandywoods.

The Sandywoods Farmers Market accepts credit cards and SNAP EBT cards.

A wide variety of fresh local produce, eggs, baked goods, shellfish, jams and jellies, honey, grass-fed beef and pastured poultry, soups and other prepared foods, gourmet coffee, and handmade crafts are among the items available at the market.

Confirmed vendors include Cory's Kitchen, Beresford of Tiverton, Acacia Cafe, Skinny Dip Farm, Roots Farm, The Coffee Guy, June Love's English Cakes, Seapowet Shellfish, Main Street Cafe and Bakery, Mann Alive Studios, Bar-Ken Crafts, and many more. (Although the Sakonnet Growers Market will not be operating at Tiverton Four Corners this summer, customers will find most of that market's vendors at Sandywoods this season.)

The Sandywoods Farmers Market has space for additional farmers, growers, and other vendors. The vendor fee is $20 per week, and both half-season and full-season options are available. More information is available at www.sandywoodsfarm.org, or by calling 401-241-7349.
