Tiverton Woman Among First To Enroll in 'Obamacare'

A Tiverton woman, who has been without health insurance for five years, was among the first to enroll in "Obamacare" or the Affordable Care Act Wednesday, reports Kaiser Health News

Leslie Peters, a Tiverton resident, was one of 252 people to enroll in the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday through Rhode Island's HealthSource RI, an online health insurance exchange. Peters was previously ineligible to buy health insurance due to pre-existing conditions.

Rhode Island is one of only 14 states to enroll patients using its own Affordable Care Act exchange program, according to Kaiser Health News.
