Tiverton Seeks Public Input On Developing Commercial Areas At Workshop Tonight

The Tiverton Planning Board is hosting a public workshop on extending the Main Road and Bliss Four Corners commercial districts tonight at 6 p.m.

In an effort to encourage business in Tiverton, the town Planning Department is seeking public input on the expansion of two commercial zoning districts in town.

The public workshop will being tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall, 343 Highland Road. Residents are being asked for input on the expansion and draft changes to the town zoning code regarding the Main Road and Bliss Four Corners commercial districts.

Planning Board Administrative Officer Kate Michaud stated intent of the workshop is to inspire revisions that would allow greater flexibility in boundaries and uses of the commercial zoning districts, reports The Sakonnet Times.

A survey on the town Planning Department's website is also gauging resident's views and will be open through Feb. 3.

"You will find that the survey contains lots of information regarding the concepts developed by the Town's consultants (the Cecil Group, Union Studio and Fitzgerald & Halliday, Inc.)," reads the survey's description on the website. "The survey provides an opportunity for users to give feedback on the proposals, and to make suggestions."
