Tiverton Brownie Troop Sends Cookies To Soldiers Overseas

Tiverton Brownie Troop 188 is sending 50 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to troops stationed in Afghanistan - including some to a Middletown Marine.

Eighteen of Tiverton's youngest residents received one of the town's highest honors on Monday when the Town Council recognized the young ladies of Brownie Troop 188 for donating their cookie shares to troops stationed in Afghanistan.

Troop co-leaders Sara Gerlach and Jennifer Mello said the girls donated their cookie shares to the 2-215 Brigade Advisor Team, 2nd Marine Division stationed in Hemland Province, Afghanistan. Approximately 50 boxes of Girl Scout cookies will be shipped out to local Marine Ryan Behan, of Middletown. The girls hope Belhan will share a few bites of home with his fellow service men and women stationed beside him overseas.
