High Bacteria Closes Tiverton Beaches

The Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) has recommended the closure of Grinell's Beach and Fogland Beach in Tiverton, as well as Barrington Town Beach, to swimming due to high bacteria counts.

Officials will make a recommendation regarding suitability for swimming when the areas are determined to be safe.

All other licensed beaches are open to swimming at this time.

Beach status may change on a daily basis. For up-to-date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches, call (401) 222-2751 or visit www.health.ri.gov/beaches to use HEALTH’s interactive beach map.
