Tiverton Police arrested a Warwick couple last week after they allegedly attempted to obtain Oxycodone using a forged prescription.
Matthew Poirier, 33, of 2020 Elmwood Ave., Warwick and Jacqueline Wandler, 24, of 26 Monik Road, Warwick, were both arrested on Sept. 11 and charged with one count each of false representation to obtain a controlled substance.
Police stopped Poirier's vehicle in the area of the Rite Aide Pharmacy on Main Road, where the two allegedly attempted to use fraudulent precriptions to get Oxycodone just after 7 p.m. on Sept. 11.
According to reports, police saw drug paraphernalia including needles and bloody napkins in plain view inside Poirier's car and took the pair into custody, where they allegedly admitted to attempted to fraudulently use prescriptions.
Poirier was also charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of simple assault after he allegedly assaulted Wandler when she failed to obtain the drugs from Rite Aide.
Poirier was also wanted on a Cranston warrant for failure to appear in court.
