Driver Crashes into Building, Charged with DUI

Arrest information is based solely on reports provided by the Tiverton Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Tiverton Police Department made the following arrests last week:

  • Kory John Gray, 23, of 77 Persimmon Drive, Tiverton, was arrested on Friday, Aug. 2 at 1:30 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence - first offense, BAC unknown after he was involved in a single-car crash on Main Road. Gray's car left the roadway in the area of 295 Main Road, traveled through the parking lot and struck the building's central air compressor before coming to a stop. On scene, police said Gray displayed signs of intoxication and administered a field test, which Gray failed. Gray allegedly admitted to being under the influence of Xanax and marijuana. Based on his admissions, he was transported to Newport Hospital for blood test. He was later released on $5,000 bail with surety by a Justice of the Peace on Aug. 3.
  • A 16-year-old Fall River female was arrested on Wednesday, July 24 at 1:59 p.m. and chargd with driving a car without the consent of the owner. The charge followed a July 21 report of a car crash at the intersection of Crandall and King roads where the car ended up being a stolen vehicle. There were two people in the car. The 16-year-old was transported to a local hospital by Tiverton Rescue after complaints of neck pain from the accident. During the follow up investigation, police learned the juvenile was aware that the car was stolen and she was charged. The incident was referred to Family Court.
  • Corey L. Marino, 34, of 40 Callender Ave., Newport, was arrested on Tuesday, July 30 at 1:09 p.m. and charged with misdemeanor larceny. Police charged Marino after a Pocasset Avenue man alleged he watched Marino remove scrap metal from old bedframes and pipes from house on the same street. Marino was arraigned in Second Division District Court on Aug. 8.
  • Joseph D. Cordeira, 41, of 331 Bulgarmarsh Road, Tiverton, was arrested on Wednesday, July 31 at 10:41 a.m. and charged with two separate incidents of failure to pay a fee for violating a town ordinance. Cordeira allegedly was issued two summonses to municipal court after he failed to pay a fee for owning an unlicensed dog.
  • Joshua A. Rapoza, 26, of 118 Sodom Road, Westport, MA, was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8:48 p.m. and charged on a bench warrant, possession mj over one ounce and failure to obey traffic laws.
