Tiverton Cops Catch Man who Broke into 14 Cars

Along with 14 counts of tampering with motor vehicles, police said he was charged with larceny, receiving stolen goods, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and a weapons law violation.

Tiverton Police on Sunday night arrested a 50-year-old Fall River man with a history of breaking into cars after he allegedly broke into 14 cars in town, stealing items along the way.

George Horr, 50, of Fall River, Mass., led police on a foot chase and fought with officers before he was apprehended after the responded to a call of an unidentified man breaking into vehicles.

Along with 14 counts of tampering with motor vehicles, police said Horr was charged with larceny, receiving stolen goods, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, a weapons law violation and an active Superior Court warrant for failing to appear on June 8 to answer to breaking and entering and receiving stolen goods charges out of Bristol.

Horr has faced similar charges in Massachusetts.

Horr was arraigned and pleaded not guilty in Second Division District court and was released on surety bail. He is due to return to court on June 26.
