Tiverton Business Owner Charged with Sexual Enticement of Minor

Richard G. Langlois, owner of the Firework Connection in Tiverton, is accused of sexually enticing a 14-year-old employee.

A Tiverton business owner is charged with attempted sexual enticement of his 14-year-old employee, according to police.

The 14-year-old Tiverton boy told police Richard Gerard Langlois, 48, of 504 Main St., Acusnet, MA, offered to help him masturbate in the bathroom of the store where he works. Langlois is the owner of the Firework Connection located at 26 Main Road in Tiverton, where the victim was employed in July at the time of the alleged assault.

A Fall River pediatrician first contacted Tiverton Police Det. Jason Dunlea on July 25 to report the sexual assault of the 14-year-old victim. During a subsequent investigation, police learned that Langlois offered to meet the victim in the shop's restroom to assist him in masturbating. Langlois also allegedly touched the boy's genital area over his clothes, according to reports.

Langlois was charged with first offense enticement of a child and one count of simple assault on Aug. 2. He was released later that day on $3,000 bail with surety by a justice of the peace pending arraignment in Superior Court.
