Bank Robbery Suspect Surrenders in Connecticut

A man is being held in Connecticut, where he faces charges. However, he's also wanted for allegedly robbing a Tiverton bank.


A man wanted in connection with the robbery of a Tiverton bank is currently being held by Connecticut authorities, Tiverton police announced. 

Daniel E. Fernandes, 22, is facing charges in connection with the robbery of the Bank Newport bank on Aug. 17 in Tiverton. 

Fernandes surrendered to Connecticut police on Sept. 5. He was wanted in Connecticut as a parole violation after he walked from a pre-release halfway house. 

The case has been turned over to the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office.
