One of the missions of the Rhode Island State Police is to enforce all motor vehicle violations and to actively pursue aggressive and impaired drivers. Enhanced enforcement and promotional efforts helped produce a safer and fatality-free holiday weekend.

“It was a productive “Click-It or Ticket” campaign and an aggressive DUI enforcement initiative by our members," said Colonel O’Donnell. "However, we would have preferred that the impaired drivers chose not to operate a motor vehicle and put themselves and others at great risk. We all set our sights and hope for the day that we no longer have to make impaired driving arrests.”
