Police Arrest Providence Man on Multiple Drug Charges

A routine traffic stop lead to arrest for one Providence man last week after police found marijuana and Hydrocodone in his car.

Tiverton Police arrested a 31-year-old Providence man on drug charges after he was stopped for driving 67 mph over the Sakonnet River Bridge.

Ross Clyde, 31, of 81 Gallatin Road, Providence was stopped on Oct. 2 at 11:43 p.m. for speeding near the Sakonnet River Bridge after police clocked his speed at 67 mph. The road is zoned 40 mph. When police approached the car, they detected an odor of marijuana and located a marijuan cigarette in the ashtray of Ross's car. During the search, polic also found a clear plastic bag with two while pills later identified as Hydrocodone.

Ross was taken into custody and held overnight for arriangment this a.m.
