One of RI's 'Most Wanted' Caught Boarding Plane

The Tiverton Police Department announce the capture of Jared Sheldon, who was wanted in connection with a Tiverton armed robbery.

One of Rhode Island's "Most Wanted" suspects was captured trying to board an airplane headed to Florida, announced the Tiverton Police Department Wednesday afternoon. 

On Tuesday, at 5:15 p.m., Tiverton police received information that Jared Sheldon was attempting to board an airplane headed to Florida. 

Sheldon, 24, was recently added to the list of Rhode Island's "Most Wanted" suspects. He was wanted in connection with the armed robbery of the Dania Food Mart on Nov. 20. 

Members of the Tiverton Police Department contacted police at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.

With their assistance, Sheldon was arrested while attempting to board an airplane.

"The Tiverton police would like to extend its gratitude to the Portsmouth Police RI, the Airport Police, and the residents of Tiverton. It was through their help, in this joint effort, that this dangerous criminal was brought to justice," according to a statement on the Tiverton Police Facebook page.
