The North Tiverton Fire District hydrant maintenance program will start on Oct. 1, flushing water lines throughout the region.
The process is expected to last about one month and residents within the fire district will likely see discoloration in thier water during and after flushing.
Water lines will be flushed overnight to clear rust and debris and water pressure will be low during the process. Residents are asked to keep water usage to a minimum after 9 p.m., said Mary Tierney, North Tiverton Fire District clerk.
If residents experience problems with discoloration, they should run faucets until the water clears. If customers have any questions, they should call the North Tiverton Fire District at 624-8432.
