Little Compton Police: Local Woman Nearly Doubles Speed Limit, Charged With DUI

West Main Road Woman Drives Almost Double The Speed Limit, Charged With DUI

Hillary A Joyce, 46, of 603 West Main Road, Little Compton, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 12:23 a.m. and charged with drunken driving and driving with an expired license.

Police stopped Joyce for speeding on West Main Road. She was allegedly driving at 70 mph in a 40 mph zone. After initiating the traffic stop, police detected alcohol coming from inside of the vehicle and noted that Joyce appeared to be intoxicated. After failing field sobriety tests, she was arrested and charged. Police later learned her driver’s license was expired.

20-Year-Old Local Woman Arrested on Warrant

Jill A Sartini, 20, of 21 East View Drive, Little Compton, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 9:58 a.m. on an active Second Division District Court bench warrant.

According to reports, a Little Compton Police officer familiar to Sartini saw her driving her car on South of Commons Road. Police knew she was wanted by the court for failing to pay fines. Police stopped Sartini, arrested her and turned her over to the District Court.

Domestic Assault on Francis Lane

Charles F. Sherman, 59, of 57 Francis Lane, Little Compton, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 8:44 p.m. and charged with domestic simple assault. 

Upon responding to Sherman's residence for a report of a Domestic issue, police arrested Sherman. After speaking with both involved parties, police alleged Sherman assaulted a woman. He was processed at the station and later arraigned before the District Court.

Vandalism On Indian Road

An Indian Road resident reported on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 9:58 a.m. that a window was broken on her camper. Police filed a report and are investigating the vandalism.

Items Missing From Old Stone Church Road Home

An Old Stone Church Road resident reported on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 1:45 p.m. that several items were missing from the home. Police did not indicate that a break-in occurred, but are investigating the matter.
