arrested a Tiverton man over the weekend on charge of drunk driving.
Matthew Mowry, 30, 15 Clement St., Tiverton, was arrested at 10:58 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3. He was pulled over for a motor vehicle violation. After police spoke to Mowry and gave him a field sobriety test, he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influnece of drugs or alcohol.
A Friendship Farm Lane resident came into the police station at 1:41 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, to report a possible Craigslist scam, involving a listing on the website to rent his home. The homeowner told police his home was not for rent, and the contact number on the listing is based in Nigeria. The matter remains under investigation.
Failure to appear in court
Minh Nhut Van, 38, of 24 Lyon St., Dorcester, MA, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31. Van was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. After police checked with the operator, it was found Van had an outstanding Second District Court warrant for failure too appear.
A Westport, MA resident came into the police station at 11:32 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, to report that her wallet had been stolen from a friend's vehicle while they stopped at . Police say the matter remains under investigation.
