Little Compton Police: Domestic Assault and a Disturbance

The following reports were supplied by the Little Compton Police Department. Arrests do not necessarily indicate convictions.

Domestic Assault

Casey A. Quarry, 28, of 7 Dearborn St., Newport, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 3:47 p.m. and charged with domestic simple assault. According to reports, police responded to the Crandall Road area to meet with a woman. She had scratches on her arms and was covered with dirt. She reported that she was assaulted by a family member while she visited him at his campsite off of Crandall Road. Officers made contact with him where he was arrested and charged. 


Police responded to an Old Main Road residence for a report of a domestic argument. After speaking with both parties involved, it was determined the argument never became physical. No one was arrested

It is a tough situation to be in, but it unfortunately, it will also be in the Newport Daily News and most likely Sakonnet Times, as it is public record. Maybe you could speak with police department to see if they are able to keep some incidents off-record?
