Little Compton Charge Man With Possession of Cocaine
The following is based on reports from the Little Compton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Little Compton police reported the following activity recently.
Police arrested William E. Peckham, 21, of 493 South Lake Road, Tiverton, on Dec. 19 at 11:29 p.m. Peckham was charged him with possession of cocaine after the vehicle he was driving was stopped on South Shore Road. During the stop, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and seized the cocaine along with a small amount of marijuana. Peckham was issued a civil citation for the possession of marijuana offense.
A vehicle driven by Jeffrey A. Reise, 63, of 191 Freeborn St., Portsmouth, struck and killed a deer while he was traveling on Peckham Road on Dec. 20 at 5:09 p.m. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. The driver was not injured.

A vehicle driven by Jeffrey R. Kenyon, 74, of 11 Highland Road, Little Compton, struck a deer on Colebrook Road on Dec. 22 at 6:17 p.m. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage. It was able to be driven from the scene. The driver was not injured. A search of the area was made and the deer could not be located.
