Deer Accidents, Assault Charge Tops Recent Police Reports
The following is based on reports from the Tiverton and Little Compton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Police made the following arrests recently.
Tiverton
Ian Pember, 19, of 711 Union St., Portsmouth, was arrested on Dec. 12 after a traffic stop on Route 24 North. Pember was charged with the following: possession of marijuana, under an ounce, a citation; possession of a controlled substance; and speeding.
Jesse R. Murray, 20, of Fall River, MA, was arrested on Dec. 13 after police responded to a residence on Demello Drive. Murray was charged with domestic, simple assault and battery, after becoming involved in an argument at the residence.
Ryan Souza, 33, of 1464 Crandall Road, Tiverton, was arrested on Dec. 15 at his residence on a warrant. Souza was wanted as a fugitive from justice, according to police reports.
Little Compton
Two vehicles struck deer this week in Little Compton.
On Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m., a vehicle driven by Richard Dube of Little Compton, struck a deer while traveling on West Main Road. The deer had to be put down by police at the scene. No one in the vehicle was injured. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
On Dec. 15, at 5:15 p.m., a vehicle driven by Barbara Curt of Fall River, MA, struck a deer while traveling on West Main Road. The deer had to be put down by police at the scene. No one in the vehicle was injured. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
