DUI Charges Top Tiverton, Little Compton Arrests This Week

The following is based on reports from the Tiverton and Little Compton Police Departments. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Police made the following arrests recently. 

Tiverton 

Shawn P. Carroll, 23, of 130 Fairwood Drive, Tiverton, was arrested on Nov. 12 at 11:30 p.m. near Tiverton Auto Parts,  541 Bulgarmarsh Road. A vehicle, operated by Carroll, was stopped along Bulgarmarsh Road. Carroll was charged with the following: driving under the influence (DUI), first offense; refusal to submit to a chemical test; lane roadway violation; leaving lane of right side of road; and presence of alcoholic beverage while driving. 

Police also arrested a 14-year-old Tiverton boy on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. on Bay Street. The boy was charged with simple assault. The arrest stems from an incident reported on Nov. 9. 

Little Compton 

Charles Sherman, 40, 57 Francis Lane, Little Compton, was arrested on Nov. 11 at 3:03 p.m. Officers responded to a 911 call at a Francis Lane residence for the report of a domestic assault. Sherman was charged with domestic assault, third offense.

Derek Dechaine, 38, of 40 ½ Jackson St., Taunton, MA, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 12:27 p.m. on an outstanding arrest warrant. Officers arrested Dechaine after contacting him at a work site.

Kevin Klauer, 66, of 11 Farrell Drive, Forestdale, MA, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 6:25 p.m. Officers responded to a 911 call of an erratic operator on 
Crandall Road. Upon making contact with the operator, and investigation, Klauer was subsequently arrested and charged with driving under the influence, Blood Alcohol Count unknown, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. 

Tracey Pimental, 27, of 362 Center St., Fall River, MA, was arrested on Nov. 15 at 10:28 p.m. after police stopped a vehicle operated by Pimental. The vehicle was stopped for lane roadway violations. Pimental was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI, BAC unknown, and refusal to submit to 
a chemical test.

Officers are also investigating a report of damaged windows. Officers responded to a home on Pleasant View Drive on Nov. 13 at 2:32 p.m. after receiving a complaint of vandalism. Several windows on a home were damaged. The investigation is ongoing.
