The Purchase of Seaside Gas

If the Town Council want's to purchase property that is paying taxes to the town I think it should be put before the voters , even if the purchase is from sources other than the town budget . There are so many questions about this sale that people should have the answers to. For all we know this could be an inside deal to get the current owners off the hook with DEM due to leaking fuel tanks and contaminated soil . It just seems wrong . I think any purchase by the town should go to the voters period . A charter change may be needed to avoid this in the future . How do we know we are not being put on the hook for thousands in clean up costs . Did the council do any research on the property
